Meet Cesar
Cesar Aguilar currently works for the statewide non-profit Arizona Students' Association(ASA). Prior to serving in the legislature, Cesar served 5 years as the Executive Director for ASA and has been able to train, organize, and develop over a thousand new student activists in the state of Arizona. Cesar began working with the Arizona Students' Association as an intern; his first year studying at Northern Arizona University; where he graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
Prior to becoming the Executive Director of ASA, Cesar worked as a field director for the Arizona Democratic Party. Here he focused on registering the community to vote, recruiting volunteers and growing the democratic voter base for Democrats down the ballot.
After the 2016 Arizona election Cesar moved to Virginia where he served as a field organizer for Elizabeth Guzman for the Virginia House of Delegates. Cesar went to Virginia because he knew he had to help Democrats after Trump was elected. Cesar was committed to not allowing the Trump agenda to poison American ideals and wanted to make sure that immigrants were not perceived as "Rapists and Murderers."
Delegate Guzman was not only a Purivian immigrant with two master degrees and in charge of a Department for the city of Alexandria but she was a Hispanic mother who stepped up because she wanted to show America what an Immigrant looks like. Cesar knew he had to be part of this campaign because he was fighting the same fight.
On Delegate Guzman’s team Cesar was put in charge of Latino precincts. Cesar was committed to getting every Latino out to vote. He recruited volunteers, made calls and knocked doors. When looking at voter turnout Team Guzman doubled the Latino vote in the district, with the help of organizations like Latino Victory and CASA in Action.
In 2018, Aguilar ran for the Balsz School District governing board and won with 43.3% of the vote. The highest vote a Balsz school board candidate had received. Cesar was then elected by his peers to serve as the Balsz School District Governing Board Vice President. Where he was able to bring students new technology, new school buildings, and a more equitable education.
Cesar served as the only Latino on the Balsz Governing Board where Latinos represent 75% of the school population. Cesar has been a strong voice for Latinx students not only in his school district but also in the state of Arizona where he co-chairs the Latinx Advisory Board for the Arizona Department of Education for Superintendent Kathy Hoffman.
Cesar's entire professional career has been built off of the practice of leading from his community, rather than to them. Cesar is a proven leader who will be a champion for the hardworking families of District 26.

Cesar's Letter To District 26
Dear Friends,
My name is Cesar Aguilar and I am running to be your Arizona Legislative District 26 Representative. I am a born-and-raised Arizonan and have lived in Phoenix pretty much my whole life. Over the last 2 years, I have watched my home state of Arizona, my community and my family be forever changed by COVID-19. During the beginning of the Pandemic my wife and I feared having our first baby not knowing what was going to come with, luckily enough we had a healthy baby boy. As our son gets older and we begin our young parenting life. We realize that it is not easy. Throughout the entire course of the pandemic I have worked 2 full time jobs. While working two jobs, I had no insurance and paid all my medical costs out of pocket while still trying to be safe knowing that COVID 19 was rapidly spreading.
As a father, I have seen the same problem in our area that everyone else sees. We cannot spend as much time with our families because we need to cover the high rising prices in order to live. We are seeing rising prices in gas, electricity, water, milk, food and working class parents like you and I have to work longer hours to be able to survive. While there are also families who far too often go without basic needs. Then when you receive your paycheck you see how much money is taken out in taxes but the public schools in our community continue to fail and have their funding gutted. The wealthiest in our state are given tax breaks and us working class families continue to see our hard earned money being spent on unwanted budget items, while our priorities are overlooked and forgotten.
This is why I am running. I am done seeing Republicans not prioritize making healthcare more affordable for hardworking families. We need to expand medicaid to all working families. We need to prioritize properly funding Preschool- Public Colleges and Universities. Lastly, we must get rid of being a right to work state and allow workers the right to be in a union. Unions allow working class families upward mobility into the middle class. In addition, I will fight to ensure all our families have access to the healthcare and the pensions they deserve; allowing our families to retire without having to worry about healthcare and their future finances.
I want you to know that the pandemic was not easy on anyone, especially those who lost loved ones. I am running to represent YOU. It is time for working class people to represent hard working Families. For too long we have had politicians who do not listen to working class Arizonians . I am asking you to make your voice heard and support my campaign for the House of Representatives as the Democratic Nominee for Legislative District 26, I am running to be YOUR CHAMPION!
In Solidarity,
Cesar Aguilar
